Ware County was established on Dec. 15, 1824. It was created from portions of Appling County. Portions of Ware Co. were used to create Clinch(1850), Coffee(1854), Pierce(1857) and Bacon(1914) counties. Becoming Georgia's 60th county, it was named after U.S. Senator Nicholas Ware.
